BECOME A SURF INSTRUCTOR !
After 25 years of surf coaching Pete has now gained the status of an official Surfing England Trainer Assessor!
We have teamed up with our friends Wave Hunters to offer a pre season in person Class room surf instructor course for anyone wanting to become a surf instructor before season 2026 kicks off! Anyone that cannot make the course is welcome to do the theory online and then choose kingsurf as the assessor for the practical coaching side and surfing assessment.
Surf instructor Course Dates
11th and 12th of April
Prerequisites
Surfing ability:
- Able to paddle out and turtle roll
- Catch green waves, bottom turn and trim left and right
- Become a member of Surfing England
Requirement coming soon for all instructors:
- Completed Safeguarding training: Either the Surfing England Surf Safeguarding Course or the NSPCC Safeguarding in Sport online module
Age limits
- At 16 become a junior surf instructor – You can coach supervised by an adult surf instructor
- At 18 become a surf instructor
Cost
£300
What do I need to bring?
Wetsuits and boards can be provided (but advised to bring your own wetsuit)
Pen and Paper
Warm clothes and waterproofs
Pack lunch or money for food
