Kingsurf Locals Kids Club for 2019 is ON!
Tuesday 7th May is the Big Day.
It’s on! We’re getting the green rashes ready for the start of the 2019 season of Kingsurf’s kids club. It’s been an interesting winter. We’ve had some glorious off-shore days (we’ve been lucky the Easter holidays have really delivered). But also the odd storm (Storm Hannah, Storm Emma, Storm Freya, and Storm Callum, to name a few)!
We’ve had a word with Zeus -God of storms and lightening- and he said he won’t be in the country for the first week of May. Boreas -the Greecian god of those horrible, chilly Northerly winds- is visiting his auntie abroad. And Eurus -favoured God of SouthEasterlies- has promised around 5 mph offshores. Poseidon is on his way back from his Easter break in Australia, and is saving his energy for 7th May’s promised 2-3 foot.
We should almost definitely be out of boots by then, maybe in our spring 4mil wetsuits. We’re getting all our qualifications topped up too. Some familiar faces will be making the odd appearance throughout the summer months. Big Tom and Scuba are finishing off Pete’s lovely extension, and then will be ready and raring to don the yellow rashie once again. And it’s only a matter of time before Marlon has his beach lifeguard qualification.
So if you’ve been to kids club before – we can’t wait to get back in the water with you again soon. If you are over the age of 7, and live locally, i.e. this side of Newquay (regardless of how much surfing you have or haven’t done before), come join us! Arrive about quarter to, for a session lasting 6pm to 7:30pm. Every Tuesday evening. £5 cash per session. Right through the year until October, or just when it gets too dark to carry on.
